  How to remove and install the headlight assembly on 1989 Pontiac Firebird?

  With the hood raised, remove the screws retaining the rear of the headlight door, then raise the headlight assembly. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, ensuring to disable the anti-theft feature on models equipped with a Delco Loe II audio system before disconnecting the battery. Next, remove the headlight bezel retaining screws and take off the bezel, followed by disconnecting the wiring connector at the headlight bulb. Remove the lower air deflector, then take out the headlight body assembly retaining screws and disconnect the wiring connectors at the actuator/motor relay. Proceed to remove the actuator/motor, disengage the headlight capsule lower retaining spring, and take out the capsule assembly without disturbing the headlight adjusting screws. Finally, remove the headlight body assembly retaining brackets and take out the body assembly, with installation being the reverse of the removal procedure.
