Chevrolet Beretta Neutral Safety Switch Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How to check Neutral Safety Switch?
A: When automatic transaxle fitted vehicles are used, try starting the engine on every gear. The engine will only turn over in Park or Neutral. On the other hand, if you use a manual transaxle, put the shift lever to Neutral and push the clutch pedal down about halfway. The engine should crank only with the clutch pedal fully depressed. On automatic transaxles, make sure that the steering column lock allows the key to go into the Lock position only when the shift lever is in Park or Reverse for manual transaxles. The ignition key should come out only in the Lock position.
