Buick Rainier Sway Bar Kit Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the front stabilizer bar and stabilizer bar bushing?
A: Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the nuts from the links and remove the links. Remove the sway bar kit clamp bolts. Remove the sway bar kit. Remove the rubber bushings, noting which way the slits are facing. Inspect all parts for wear and damage. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten all fasteners to the torque specifications.
  • Q: How do you remove and install rear stabilizer bar and stabilizer bar bushing?
A: To remove the sway bar kit, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and raising the rear of the vehicle. Support it securely on jackstands and block the front wheels to prevent rolling. Remove the rear wheels. Then, remove the sway bar kit link-to-frame nuts/bolts and the nuts from the lower ends of the links. Separate the links from the bar. Finally, remove the sway bar kit by removing the clamp nuts. To install the sway bar kit, inspect the sway bar bushings and link bushings for any signs of deterioration and replace them if necessary. Then, follow the reverse order of removal, making sure to tighten all fasteners to the specified torque.
