In order to replace the hood latch, the hood need to be opened and a line needs to be drawn around the latch to help in the positioning of the new latch. Unbolt the attaching bolts that join the hood latch to the Radiator Support and also, pull of the latch. Then pull the cable down and the cable retainer and remove the cable end plug from the latch assembly. For the release cable, first remove the hood latch and then you can remove the hood release cable from it. Then remove the two release cable clips from the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement. Lose the wheel lug nuts, elevate the car with jackstands, and take out the left front wheel and the inner fender splash shield also. Unclip the release cable on the upper portion of the fender opening by opening the two cable clips in the area. Pull the release cable end up to free it from the shape, then slide the cable clip off from the wiring harness, next remove the two screws that is used to secure the hood release handle and finally pull the handle outward. Last, retract the release cable from the release handle and pass through the fire-wall, while the removal process is reversed for Installation.
