Remove the engine covers and raise the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands before removing the splash shield. Place a drain pan under the power steering cooler. For V6 engines, on 3.2L models, remove the air intake duct, while on 3.6L models, remove the radiator. Disconnect the cooler hose clamps and hoses, allowing the fluid to drain, then remove the cooler-to-frame fasteners and the cooler itself. For 2008 and later V6 models, loosen the front bumper cover to access the cooler bracket top fasteners, then loosen the cooler hose clamps, disconnect the lines, and allow the fluid to drain before removing the cooler bracket fasteners and the cooler and bracket from under the vehicle. For V8 engines from 2008 and later, remove the front bumper cover, loosen the cooler hose clamps, disconnect the lines, and allow the fluid to drain before removing the cooler bracket mounting fasteners and the cooler and bracket from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal, followed by filling the power steering reservoir with the recommended fluid and bleeding the power steering hydraulic system.
