The heater core sits inside the complete HVAC assembly along with the evaporator core and pieces that control the mode selection. Getting your air conditioning system worked on and drained by a trained expert is important. First, in the engine area, you need to remove four parts-the right engine mount strut, windshield washer fluid heater, engine trim cover, and upper tie bar. Then, disconnect the evaporator hose from the evaporator. Unfasten the heater hoses from the core, move the brake pedal assembly aside, lift and shift the carpet, so you can maneuver freely around the HVAC assembly. Disconnect the main support bar underneath the dashboard, and also move the air duct going down the console sideways, before you take out the instrument panel carrier. Unplug the electrical connectors attached to the HVAC system at the floor's left hole, and take off the complete assembly. To reach the heater core, first take off the four outer screws that hold the connection pipe cover, then pull out the heater core. Installation is the reverse of removal.
