Cadillac Eldorado Brake Booster

All vehicles including Cadillac Eldorado have the Brake Booster which is vital to increase brake force that the driver does not need to apply much force to stop the car. Sitting in between the brake pedal and the master cylinder is the Brake Booster whose function is to increase the pressure applied on the brakes through either vacuum or hydraulic power. The vacuum-operated boosters work just as the name suggests, they operate with the help of the pressure created by the engine vacuum while hydraulic boosters use the hydraulic pressure found in the power steering pump or an electric motor. On Cadillac Eldorado models over the years the Brake Booster has come in Single Diaphragm and Dual Diaphragm varieties, normal and large in diameter, also chrome or painted. Typically, the bigger diameter of booster produces more amount of power assist, yet, the boosters which utilize dual-diaphragm can afford commensurate assistance even in compact zones of the engine compartment. This versatility makes it possible to meet brake demands of cars under restoration, or when building a Cadillac Eldorado from scratch, and guarantee that the braking system continues to provide optimum, smooth performance.

Each OEM Cadillac Eldorado Brake Booster we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Cadillac Eldorado Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a power brake booster on Cadillac ElDorado?
A: When you press the brake pedal in these two Cadillac models, a dual vacuum brake booster works with vacuum pulling in on both sides of its diaphragms. Braking pressure partly comes from one half of each diaphragm receiving air from the environment, while the other half evacuates vacuum when you release the brakes, directed through a special air valve. You can't fix or replace any of the parts inside. Before removing the booster, turn off the vehicle's power with a negative cable and disconnect the booster suction tube. Keep brake line integrity by taking off the master cylinder holding nuts and moving the master cylinder without detaching the lines, while being gentle to prevent bends. First, take off the booster mountings and pull out the pushrod from the brake pedal, steady the booster to keep it from bending side-ways. Take out the booster andreasdolase if they need to be taken out. To install, first get the necessary gasket, place the booster in its location, join the pushrod to the brake pedal, and screw the mounting nuts in a firm 20 foot pound force (27 newton meter). When you have the barrier (if used), attach the master cylinder, bolt down its nuts tightly (20 ft. lbs. torque), attach the brake booster vacuum hose, and end the job by reinstalling the battery negative terminal.
