Sound insulator will be removed when necessary. The bolts/screws at the back of the wheel are to be taken off and electrical connectors disconnected so as to remove inflator module. When handling a live inflator module, it should be positioned safely to reduce chances of accidentally deploying it. Remove the steering column shaft nut and mark the alignment if necessary. With a wheel puller, remove this tool from a vehicle needing one. After that, feed in the SIR coil assembly lead through a slot in a wheel, align marks on a wheel and shaft and tighten those nuts on a shaft. Put horn contact in place; attach electrical connectors to an inflator module; and secure that module with bolts/screws. SIR indicator light should be checked for proper function upon reconnecting electrical components, installing the SIR fuse, connecting negative battery cable then re-enabling SIR system.
