This procedure applies to models with coil spring rear suspension only. Begin by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts, raising the rear of the vehicle, and securely supporting it on jackstands placed underneath the frame rails while blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling. Remove the wheel(s) and, if equipped with Autoride®, unbolt the height sensor linkage from the bracket on the trailing arm, ensuring not to change its adjustment or pry on it; pivot the linkage up and support it to avoid damage. Support the rear axle with a floor jack, then remove the nuts, washers, and bolts from each end of the trailing arm before taking out the arm. Inspect the bushings for any signs of deterioration; if replacement is necessary, consult a local auto parts store or dealer for availability and take the arm and bushings to a qualified repair facility for pressing. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, raising the rear axle to simulate normal ride height before tightening the fasteners to the specified torque. For the track bar, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, blocking the front wheels. Detach the parking brake cable from the clips on the arm, then remove the nuts and bolts from each end of the bar. After removing the bar, check the bushings for deterioration and follow the same procedure for replacement if needed. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to raise the rear axle to normal ride height before tightening the fasteners to the specified torque.
