What is the purpose of the Canister Purge Valves and Vapor Canister on Cadillac ElDorado and Fleetwood?

The Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) System reduces evaporated hydrocarbons from entering the atmosphere. The EVAP charcoal canister stores fuel drawn from the tank.
