Chevrolet Avalanche Air Filter Box Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How to remove the air intake duct and air filter housing on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?
A: To remove the air intake duct on V8 models, first remove the intake manifold cover and disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose. Then detach the radiator hose clip and loosen the hose clamp screws at the MAF sensor and Throttle Body. Lift the duct straight up to disengage the locator pin from its insulator grommet. To remove the air filter box, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor and pull the box straight up to disengage the two locator pins from their insulator grommets. While the box is out, inspect the rubber mounting grommets and replace any that are damaged. Installation is the reverse of removal.
