  • Q: How to remove and install a front stabilizer bar and stabilizer bar bushing on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?
A: To remove the sway bar kit, the vehicle must be raised and securely supported on jackstands. The oil pan skid plate or engine shield, if present, should be removed. The link bolts and sway bar kit bracket bolts should be removed, followed by the sway bar kit itself. The sway bar bushings should also be removed and all parts inspected for wear and damage. When installing the sway bar bushings, it is important to position them correctly with the slits facing forward for 1500 models and rearward for 2500/3500 models. The installation process is the reverse of removal, with all fasteners tightened to torque specifications and thread-locking compound (blue) used on the bolts.
