Unscrew the nut washer from the battery terminal on the end-cover and remove the terminal, followed by the removal of the resistor bypass terminal and contactor. Replace the motor connector strap terminal by soldering a new terminal in position, then use a new battery terminal and install it to the end-cover along with the bypass terminal and contactor. Reinstall the end-cover and the remaining terminal nuts. Finally, install the solenoid to the starter motor, ensuring the return spring is in position on the plunger, insert the solenoid body into the drive housing, and turn it counterclockwise to engage the flange key before securing it with the two screws and connecting the connector strap.
