To do a replacement of the manually-operated regulator, begin by removing the door trim panel and the water deflector. Lift the window as far up as it will go and then insert two rubber mencoes between the glass and the door panel. Third, unbolt and take out the regulator mounting bolts, and free the regulator lift arm from the lower sash guide plate cam, and pull the regulator out through the access opening. In the case of an electrically operated regulator, as with the manually operated one, you will need to first of all, release the window glass as explained above, then you will need to use a spanner to detach the bolts that hold the regulator to the car and to disconnect the regulator lift arm from the sash plate guide cam assembly. Then, with the aid of screw driver, unlock and take off the upper and lower guide tube mounting screws before pulling out the guide tube and the lower sash guide plate from the door. Last but not the least, remove the wiring harness and pull out the regulator assembly out of the way. Removal and installation of both types are the exact opposite of one another.
