Chevrolet Cobalt Wheel Seal

The Chevrolet Cobalt Wheel Seal prevents premature wear as it helps the wheels to rotate freely without requiring too much power to turn. It stops grease from leaking out. Surrounding the wheel bearing hub, the Wheel Seal prevents lubricant from leaking at the moving rollers and at the same time keeps rocks, dust, and water out that may grind surfaces or cause rust. Through this dual action of keeping grease in and keeping dirt out, overheating, brittleness, and expensive bearing failure are prevented. Thus, every Chevrolet owner can enjoy a quieter ride and a steadier steering feel. The operation is straightforward but effective. The ring is exactly fitted and is pressed against the hub such that it always makes contact. As the axle rotates, the Wheel Seal flexes but never breaks contact. During the entire production run of the Chevrolet Cobalt, only one functional style is referenced which uses the same grease-retaining lip design. No major alternate versions are noted otherwise. This underlines how efficiently the original Wheel Seal was in that it did its job. Regularly looking for cracks and leaks will confirm the Wheel Seal is still in place, lubricated, and doing its job rolling the Cobalt.

Each OEM Chevrolet Cobalt Wheel Seal we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Cobalt Wheel Seal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace wheel seals in Automatic transaxle on Chevrolet Cobalt?
    A:
Wheel leaks frequently occur due to wear of the wheel seals. Replacement of these seals is relatively easy since the repairs can be performed without removing the transaxle from the vehicle. The wheel seals are located on the sides of the transaxle, where the driveaxles are attached. If leakage at the seal is suspected, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. If the seal is leaking, fluid will be found on the sides of the transaxle. To remove the left-side seal, remove the snap-ring on the stub shaft and use a screwdriver or seal removal tool to carefully pry the wheel seal out of the transaxle bore. Measure the distance that the stub axle protrudes beyond the sleeve and remove the sleeve from the stub shaft using a special puller. Compare the old seal to the new one to ensure it's the correct one. For installation, coat the new seal with transmission fluid and use a seal installation tool to drive it into the bore. Use a special tool to press the new sleeve onto the stub shaft and install a new snap-ring on the stub shaft before installing the driveaxle.
