  Q: How do you remove the A/C Condenser?

  A: To remove the air conditioning system, start by discharging the system at a dealer service department or service station and draining the engine coolant. Disconnect the battery's negative terminal cable and then disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, plugging the open ends to prevent dirt or moisture from entering. Remove the Radiator grille and the radiator, followed by the receiver/drier. The condenser is mounted to the radiator, so remove the radiator/condenser assembly as a unit and then remove the bolts securing the condenser to the radiator. Inspect the rubber insulator pads on the lower crossmember and replace them if necessary. For installation, store the original condenser with the line fittings on top to prevent oil drainage, or pour one ounce of R-134a-compatible refrigerant oil into a new condenser before installation. Reinstall the components in reverse order, ensuring the rubber pads are in place under the condenser. Refill the cooling system and then have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested.
