When in operation, to access the outside door handle lever and door lock, the window has to be closed to its lowest position. These are on the door, or in a special chamber outside of the door; the water shield must be removed to get to the outside latch bolts, it is a part of the door and can be taken off because it is held in place by sticky sealant. Thirdly, there is black tape over the outside door latch bolts which should now be stripped off. Undo the outside lock actuating rod by pulling it out from the lock, inside the door by forcing it off the plastic holder. The clip that joins the outside handle actuating rod to the door lock needs to be unscrewed and this requires a flat headed screw driver. Loosen the bolts of the outside handle with the socket and extension and ease the outside handle with the gasket out of the door frame noting that one may be required to rotate the door lock using the key in order to reach the exterior part of the frame. For the removal of an outside electrically operated door handle, pull the door and that will reveal the handle/switch, then, the next thing to do is to remove the two screws holding the switch and pull it away from the door in the process the electrical connector will be freed as well. For the inside door handle first, take out the door trim panel, then apply pressure pushing the tab at the back of inside handle and the handle would shift forward slightly, then lift the rear of the handle and pull backward to release the front part of the tabs. All of the described components can be installed or removed by rotating the inside latch to unhook actuator rods, and vice versa.
