- Q: How to replace the hood latch and Hood Cable on Chevrolet Corvette?A:If changing the hood latch, raise the hood and remove all electrical connectors that may be connected to the latch assembly. Pop three bolts that hold the latch assembly, compress the cable holder to unlock the cable, and pull the cable end plug out of the latch, indicating the position of the latter before extraction. To totally release the cable from the latch, the three bolts which hold the latch to the car need to be undone; to release the cable end tabs, just press them. As for the release cable, get to the engine compartment and removes the latch of the hood and the release hood cable. Pull the retaining clips and remove the cable from the vehicle making sure that the cable is smooth when it passes through the fire wall. Take out all the screws on the release handle of the car, unbolt the rubber grommet at the firewall and pull it towards the inside of the car besides, it is also pull the whole cable through the opening of the rubber grommet. Last, pull out the cable out from the inside handle, and the installation procedures are the opposite of the removal process.
