Note that 2004 and earlier models have a single mount, while 2005 and later models have two mounts. To inspect, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Insert a large screwdriver or prybar between the mount and the transmission and pry up; the transmission should not move excessively away from the mount, and if it does, the mount should be replaced. For replacement, loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the rear wheels and mount-to-subframe bolts. For 2005 and earlier models, remove the intermediate exhaust pipe, then remove the rear transverse spring. Support the transmission and subframe separately to lower the subframe while keeping the transmission/differential assembly stationary. Remove the subframe nuts using only hand tools, then carefully lower the subframe to allow the mount to be removed. Remove the transmission mount and bracket from the differential, then take the mount off the bracket. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2006 and later models, disconnect the lower ends of the shock absorbers from the control arms. Support the transmission and subframe separately to lower the subframe while keeping the transmission/differential assembly stationary. Remove the subframe nuts using only hand tools, then carefully lower the subframe approximately 1.5 inches to allow the mounts to be removed. Remove the desired mount from the differential, and installation is the reverse of removal.
