  Q: How do you remove and replace the headlight bulb on a Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain?

  A: Remove the Headlight housing on 2009 and earlier models and remove the inner fender splash shield on 2010 and later models. Rotate the holder anticlockwise while pulling it off from the housing. Hold the bulb holder in one hand; pull it anticlockwise to remove from the housing. Remove the bulb from the headlight housing. Note where the bulb is, then take it out of its socket. Take the new bulb by its plastic base part only, insert it in its seat carefully keeping alignment on both sides, and properly position it inside the front lamp body. Properly align and install the bulb retainer, then twist right to lock it into place. The reverse process for removing is what is involved in installing this part of your vehicle; that is, you should do exactly as you did when taking out your headlight assembly to remove this piece also.
