First, engage and turn on your parking brake. Use four jacks to lift the vehicle, then place it on support stands so it stays balanced and stable. Mask off the paint with tape on the nearby panels before using a jackstand to help you take off either the front or back bumper cover. First, remove bolts connecting the front end of the fender lip liners, giving you access to the screws fixing your bumper cover to the vehicle frame. Next, remove the plastic shield covering the inner front and rear fenders. Before you start, pull off both plugs for the side marker light and fog lamp electrical systems. Take out the screws on top of the bumper cover, and then use a special tool to loosen the small clips on all sides of the cover to remove the whole unit. Installation is the reverse of removal. To take off the rear bumper, start by opening your vehicle's liftgate, find and loosen four fasteners at the bottom corners of the cover. Unplug the cables that control your car's tail, side marker, and license plate lights, and then take out all three lights. Release the fasteners at the back of the splash guards on the side fenders, plus one fastener that connects the bumper cover to the car body. On the underside, undo the fasteners from both ends of the cover. Take hold of each side of the bumper cover from below, and pull it to unsnap from the ground. Then you can remove the cover from underneath. Installation is the reverse of removal.
