How to remove the Air Filter Box on Chevrolet Malibu?

To take off the air intake duct, first, loosen the screws of the hose clamps at the air filter box and turbocharger or air intake resonator. If you are dealing with a model from 2016 onwards, apart from Malibu Limited models, take out the PCV vent hose from the duct. Carefully drag off the throttle body or resonator and air filter box's intake duct. Leave it to one side for 1.5L models while still connected by a PCV hose. To install, just reverse what you did when removing them. First, remove the air intake duct before you remove the air intake resonator on 2015 and other previous models or even 2016 Malibu Limiteds. Then remove the bolt holding resonator to engine and release these clamps that attach resonator hose to throttle body. Raise resonator up and disconnect this PCV pipe either from valve cover or through resonator one.Finally bring down this part from under your car .For installation purposes follow removal process backwardly.To start removing an air filter box you have to disconnect battery cable from negative terminal as well as taking away an air intake duct.Remove electrical connector from mass airflow sensor (MAF) then pull firmly on top of grommets for locating it after which lift up while secondary air injection hose if available should be disengaged.After uninstalling reconnect in reverse order of removal process.
