Remove the door trim panel and water deflector. Reach in through the door service hole and disconnect the control links from the latch. Remove the three door lock retaining screws from the end of the door, as the door latch screws are located there. Installation is the reverse of removal; when installing the front door operating rod to the outside handle, turn the joint to adjust the specified distance to 5/64 in (2 mm). When placing the inside handle in position, adjust the control links to achieve the clearance between the latch inside opening lever rod and the outside opening rod of 5/64 in (2 mm). Disconnect the control link from the lock cylinder, then use pliers to slide the retaining clip off and remove the lock cylinder from the door, with installation being the reverse of removal. Remove the retaining screws for the inside handle, rotate the handle away, and detach it from the door, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the outside handle, disconnect the control link from the handle using a screwdriver to detach the latch rod, then remove the nuts or bolts and detach the handle from the door, with installation being the reverse of removal.
