Q: How do you replace the steering knuckle and front wheel bearings?
A: To replace the steering knuckle, start by raising and securing the front of the vehicle. Remove the front wheels, brake caliper, and brake disc and hub assembly. Take out the ball stud bolt and the clip retaining the brake line to the strut bracket. Then, remove the strut-to-knuckle bolts and finally, remove the knuckle. To replace the front wheel bearings, remove the bearings using a drift punch and hammer. Before installing the new bearings, pack them with wheel bearing grease and apply grease to the oil seal lip. Fill the space between the spacer and the knuckle with grease. Install the inner bearing, spacer, and outer bearing using a suitable driver, ensuring the sealed sides of the bearings face out. Center the spacer between the inner and outer bearings. Gently tap the oil seal into place, being careful not to deform or damage it. Finally, reinstall the steering knuckle.
