To uninstall the throttle cable start with disconnecting the other end of the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Secondly, loosen the locknut of the threaded end at carburetor or throttle body location with the help of a screw driver. Hold the throttle lever arm and twist it counter clockwise to get more wire strands in the cable then remove the cable end from the slot in the lever arm. Follow the throttle cable to the fire wall and remove it from all fittings. The cable is clipped to the firewall with a clip that can only be accessed once from the interior side of the car, around the region of the throttle pedal. Remove the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal and pull the throttle cable back to the interior of the car through the fire wall. For installation, simply follow the following procedures which is a reverse of the removal steps: To change the cable, the accelerator pedal should be fully depressed and the throttle should be on its wide open condition. It can only be adjusted when the locknuts are slightly loosened, accelerator pedal pressed down and to achieve full throttle operation. Last but not the least, tighten the locknuts and check the adjustment again that the throttle should close fully, if the pedal is not pressed.
