Secondly, loosen the locknut of the threaded end at carburetor or throttle body location with the help of a screw driver. Hold the throttle lever arm and twist it counter clockwise to get more wire strands in the cable then remove the cable end from the slot in the lever arm. Follow the throttle cable to the fire wall and remove it from all fittings. The cable is clipped to the firewall with a clip that can only be accessed once from the interior side of the car, around the region of the throttle pedal. Remove the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal and pull the throttle cable back to the interior of the car through the fire wall.
