To take out the radio from a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, access starts with removing the center panel first and later unscrewing the radio mounts to pull the entire unit away from the dashboard. First, depress the little releases on the connectors at the back of the radio to free the wires and antenna cable. Pull them apart gently. To access the door speakers, first push the edge of the front door trim panel back to fully expose it, then unscrew the main speaker support. Monte Carlo owners will notice three screws while performing this step. Remove the speaker piece, pop off the locator pin holding the harness clip, disconnect the electrical wire, and put the flange back exactly how it was. At the rear, you need to start by taking off the rear shelf trim panel. Find the rear speaker in your trunk, unplug the electrical connector, push on the mounting tabs, and lift them to release the speaker from its holder. Unplugging the hardware hierarchy starts from the other direction of original disconnection.
