Chevrolet Silverado Relay
The Chevrolet Silverado contains three essential Relay within its air conditioning system: fan Relay, blower motor Relay and control switches. These Relay operate through electricity to function as simple electric switches which handle device operations based on small electrical signals. The failure of a Relay stops its connected part from working properly causing either a non-functioning blower motor or a non-operational fan. Silverado vehicles use both electro-mechanical and solid-state Relay for their system operations. Two types of parts exist in the market including electro-mechanical parts that function through electromagnets and solid-state system parts that depend on semiconductor operations to operate without any moving elements. Special applications benefit from the use of latching Chevrolet replacement units due to their ability to store their status until purposeful reset occurs. Replacement of faulty Chevrolet Silverado replacement parts must happen in a timely manner with accurate diagnosis to maintain A/C system performance while stopping failures from progressing.
Each OEM Chevrolet Silverado Relay we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.
Chevrolet Silverado Relay Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: What are relays and how are they used on Chevrolet Silverado?
A:
Relays are used in several electrical circuits in vehicles to transmit electrical signals to components. They use a low-current control circuit to open and close a high-current power circuit. If a relay is defective, the corresponding component will not function properly. Most relays are located in the engine compartment Fuse/relay box, with some specialized relays located above the interior fuse box in the dash. To test a suspected faulty relay, it can be removed and tested using an ohmmeter to check continuity through the relay control coil and power circuit terminals. The terminals of ISO relays are numbered to indicate their usual circuit connections and functions. If the relay fails any of the tests, it must be replaced as a unit.
