For carbureted vehicles, unlatch the clips securing the top of the Air Filter Box to the main housing, then remove the nut that secures the air intake case to the carburetor, lifting off the case and disconnecting the vacuum line from the underside. Unplug the breather hose from the rocker arm cover and remove the air intake case. Next, disconnect the hot and fresh air intake hoses from the Air Filter Box, remove the three mounting nuts and washers securing the Air Filter Box to the inner fender panel, and take out the Air Filter Box. Installation follows the reverse order of removal. For fuel-injected vehicles, start by removing the air intake duct, then unscrew or unclip the Air Filter Box housing cover and take out the air filter element. Unbolt the Air Filter Box from the inner fender panel, and for multiport fuel-injected models, remove the necessary bolts to detach the Air Filter Box housing. Installation is again the reverse of removal.
