Chevrolet Trailblazer A/C Compressor

Chevrolet Trailblazer A/C Compressor rapidly squeezes low pressure refrigerant into a hot high pressure gas, giving the SUV its first and highly important step to chilled cabin air. Inside the sealed housing is the A/C Compressor which draws vapor from the evaporator, compresses it, and sends it to the condenser where the outside air removes heat from the gas. The gas then cools down and heads back to the evaporator where it flashes into cold mist which is pulled by the blower through the vents. This constant loop allows drivers to dial in constant comfort even when the sun is beating down. Over the years, Chevrolet employed two basic setups of refrigerant. Early models applied R12 and later models applied the cleaner R134a. With that change came a different oil and a slightly different A/C Compressor to handle the cleaner fluid. Although both versions do the same job, the R134a style is more efficient and does not cause the ozone damage associated with R12. No matter what year, every Trailblazer relies on a tight belt-drive to turn the A/C Compressor clutch, and a loss of compression will quickly manifest itself as warm airflow. Because the component is responsible for pressure as well as circulation, maintaining the health of the A/C Compressor is important to any Chevrolet fan who wants to enjoy a cool Trailblazer throughout the summer.

Each OEM Chevrolet Trailblazer A/C Compressor we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Trailblazer A/C Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Compressor on Chevrolet Trailblazer?
    A:
To remove the air conditioning system, start by discharging the system and disconnecting the battery. Clean the compressor around the refrigerant line fittings. For six-cylinder engines, remove the drivebelt, alternator, and drivebelt idler pulley bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) and the suction and discharge block from the compressor. Remove the compressor mounting bolts and take out the compressor. For V8 engines, remove the air cleaner housing assembly, cooling Fan Shroud, and drivebelt. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and the refrigerant suction and discharge hoses from the compressor. Remove the upper compressor mounting bolts. Raise the vehicle, disconnect the compressor electrical connector(s), and remove the remaining compressor mounting bolts. Lower the vehicle and remove any remaining bracket bolts. To install, pour the oil from the old compressor into a container and add the same amount of new refrigerant oil to the new compressor. Follow any instructions provided with the new compressor. Install the lines or line fitting block to the compressor using new seals lubricated with refrigerant oil. Reconnect the battery and have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested.
