To change the position of the latch, the grille has to be pulled out and the latch mechanism to be disconnected, while noting down the position of the latch. Release the tension of the latch bolts and fine tune the position of the same by pulling until you get the optimal hood-closed position the release spring and detach the terminal end of the counterpart cable by using the plier. For installation reverse all the steps you used for removal of the latch so that the bumpers will slightly compress when the hood is closed. When releasing the release cable, it is unclipped from the engine wiring harness to which it is connected and another wire is put to help with the fixing of a new cable. Inside the passenger compartment, the driver's sill panel must be detached, as well as the kick panel to access the hood latch release cable and handle. It may be necessary to replace the handle assembly; if so, remove the cable housing end using pliers and remove the retaining nut. Follow the cable to the firewall grommet; remove it and pull the handle and cable into the interior of the vehicle. Engage the new cable to the guide wire and pull through to the firewall so that the grommet is seated in place over the latch assembly. You have to reverse the entries made in the removal process to finalize the installation.
