GMC Jimmy Radiator

The GMC Jimmy Radiator is one of the essential parts that significantly contribute to the heat control of the automobile's engine. The radiator serves as the heat dump for the liquid cooling system; it cools the engine coolant that has been heated within the engine by a combination of fins and tubes that transfer the heat from the coolant in to the air. Majority of GMC Jimmy Radiators come with Aluminum core and plastic/aluminum tanks, but the ones made of copper/brass can also be found. The radiator normally is fixed at the front of the vehicle whereby it is exposed to air to enhance heat exchange. It is common to find a leaking radiator system, and by experienced mechanics, which leakage challenges can be solved by either brazing, soldering or welding work, though replacement may be the ultimate solution in the case of challenging leaks. Performance radiators provide an improvement on the factory items by employing thin sheet aluminum construction and refinement consistent with better understanding of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Such radiators, as compared with the conventional ones, embody greater tube diameter and density of the fins to improve the through-the-flow of the coolant and temperature of the engine. Standard available performance radiators are the direct fits which can be easily fit and there are larger cores if more cooling is required. Custom universal radiators are also available for drag racing and circle track as well as any other use needed for cooling.

Each OEM GMC Jimmy Radiator we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

GMC Jimmy Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a radiator and coolant reservoir tank on GMC Jimmy?
A: Before pulling out the radiator from Chevy Blazer and GMC Jimmy, start with disconnecting the negative end of the battery cable and emptying the cooling system. Start by taking off the air intake duct and upper fan grill. When the vehicle has an automatic transmission or an engine oil cooler installed, carefully take off these cooler lines from the radiator and plug their ends to keep them from leaking. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Twist out the lower fan shroud by manually pushing down on two small plastic clips. Finally, pull the radiator straight up and out. First, replace any broken hose clamps and radiator hoses before you reverse-install the radiator, step-by-step. With newer models, put fresh spring clamps on oil cooler connections and make sure they push down tight. After installing the system, put the correct antifreeze mix inside and check the transmission fluid level when it's automatic. First, remove the PCM at the top of the coolant reservoir, then disconnect the overflow hose and mounting nuts so you can take out the reservoir. Be sure to clean the reservoir from old parts, so no dirt affects the system when you put it back.
