It is fitted on a flange or bracket that emerges from the
Brake Pedal support. If, with the brake pedal fully released, the plunger on the body of the switch is pressed in only to this extent, some difference in brake feel may be considered normal. When the pedal is depressed, the plunger goes in and makes an electrical circuit that provides current to the stop lights at back side of the vehicle. If the stop lights are inoperative and the bulbs are not burned out position the stop light switch in such a way that the threaded portion of the switch can be heard clicking when pushed through the tubular clip towards the brake pedal. Push the switch forward against the tubular clip and, while holding the switch in place, pull the brake pedal to the rear to the pedal stop until no more additional 'clicks' are heard for the right amount of seating and correct adjustment. Let off the brake pedal and redo so that no more clicking can be heard at all. Ensure that the stop lights are okay. In case the lights are not working there are electrical connectors at the stop light switch and the switch can be pulled from the clip. Set a new switch and manipulate it, to make sure the electrical connectors are connected.
