Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the steering column covers. The steering column switches on these models consist of two separate switch units connected to a central plastic housing, with the left-side switches controlling the headlight and turn signal, and the right-side switches managing the washer/wiper control. Either switch can be replaced separately, so unplug the electrical connectors from the combination switch that needs replacement. Depress the claw in the switch and pull it from the steering column, taking care not to apply excessive force, as it may break the claw. To replace the cruise control switch, remove the driver's airbag, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the bolt securing the switch. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
