Saturn LS1 Clutch Disc

The Saturn LS1 Clutch Disc offers smooth engagement that optimizes torque delivery so that drivers feel it every time they launch from a stop. Additionally, it has a reputation for rock-solid reliability in daily traffic and long highway cruises. Designed to the exact specifications of the midsize Saturn sedan range, the Clutch Disc is a fit for every manual-equipped LS1 variant from the early base car to the refreshed 2000 model. Owners gain an instant plug-in solution that retains OEM ride quality. The high-strength organic friction facings on the Clutch Disc are designed to grab firm and release clean. The steel marcel layer flexes in a measured way to stop chatter while making starts easy on driveline parts. A loaded sprung hub encased with multiple coil cushions absorbs the reaction of the drivetrain, which protects the gears and bearings. Connected to this is the passenger comfort. The placement of the unit in the space between the flywheel and pressure plate ensures that the pedal effort remains light. As a result, this builds confidence in new drivers and allows seasoned commuters to benefit from the efficiency that comes from less slip, leading to lower fuel use. Every Clutch Disc is built to withstand heat build-up caused by repeated bursts of stop-start operations, thereby prolonging service life and reducing the likelihood of fade during steep hills or heavy cargo. Commuting car drivers who drive a first-generation Saturn LS1 or later LS1 refresh have noticed that the Clutch Disc has crisp engagement as intended, one more strength that proves the Saturn tradition of durability. A well-maintained Saturn's Clutch Disc keeps spinning true long after neighboring vehicles require replacements. The Saturn factory trials revealed that the Clutch Disc produced the same grip curves across the LS1 trims and their respective gearboxes. Thus, it will make the launches in the LS1 predictable for safe performance. It also increases the efficiency in the drivetrain.

Each OEM Saturn LS1 Clutch Disc we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS1 Clutch Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate, and Release Bearing on Saturn LS1?
    A:
To remove the clutch components without taking the engine out, first of all, start by removing the transaxle from the vehicle. Use an engine support fixture or hoist to ensure that it is properly supported. Put a clutch alignment tool through the clutch disc hub to hold up the clutch disc as you remove it. For proper aligntment make sure that there are indexing marks on both sides of a flywheel and pressure plate or manually put them in place. Gradually loosen criss-cross patterned pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts, take them off and then remove the pressure plate and clutch disc. Check for defects on the flywheel that can be cured by machining its surface flat and smooth at a machine shop. The lining of the clutch disc should be inspected for wear and damage, focusing especially on loose rivets, cracks, broken springs/dampers among others. Generally speaking, replace your old friction material with new one. Also replace a faulty release cylinder/release bearing assembly for your safety. Look over pressure plates for signs of glazing, excessive wear or damage, replacing as necessary. Carefully clean all surfaces of flywheel and pressure plate using an appropriate solvent or brake parts cleaner as necessary. Position an aligning tool against both sides of flywheel so as to centre clutch plate before tightening clamping screws crisscrosswise one after another until they get tight enough in specified order (torque). Reinstall previously removed transaxle plus put back release cylinder into place too.
