Saturn LS1 Fuel Level Sensor

The Fuel Level Sensor in Saturn LS1 transmits tank data to the dash gauge for real-time monitoring of gas supply. Current renditions reside within the fuel tank while connecting a float, an actuating rod, and a variable resistor to transform liquid height into an electrical signal read on the gauge in a few seconds. The Fuel Level Sensor has low power draw, heat tolerance, and straightforward calibration. This means that after countless refills, it remains reliable and the gauge does not stick at full or drop unpredictably. This Fuel Level Sensor is based on the same float-resistor technology applied in earlier sedans, but with more precise electronics that maintain their familiar parts layout while sharpening response speed. Throughout the production years at the Saturn LS1 plant, there do not appear to be any other types than this float-based arrangement. As such, the differences are largely electronic processing as opposed to mechanical. If the Fuel Level Sensor fails, the warning lights can be misleading and should be checked in a timely manner. Because the Fuel Level Sensor connects directly to the pump bracket and is located in the gasoline, keeping it intact is essential for safe, stress-free driving in any Saturn LS1.

Each OEM Saturn LS1 Fuel Level Sensor we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS1 Fuel Level Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and reinstall a Fuel Level Sensor and Fuel Pump on Saturn LS1?
    A:
To begin the process, relieve the system fuel pressure and equalize tank pressure by removing the fuel filler cap. Next, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the Fuel Tank. After that, disconnect the fuel supply and return lines from the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor, using a shop rag to soak up any spilled fuel. Mark the orientation of the fuel pump in relation to the fuel tank to ensure correct realignment when reinstalling. Using a pair of large water pump pliers, unscrew the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor locknut. If the locknut is tight, carefully tap it loose with a hammer and a brass punch. Carefully remove the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor from the fuel tank, taking care not to damage the fuel inlet strainer or the fuel level sensor float arm and float. Before installing the pump, inspect the O-ring for cracks, tears, and deterioration, and replace if necessary. Also, inspect the fuel pump inlet strainer and clean it if dirty. Installation is the reverse of removal, making sure not to damage the fuel inlet strainer, float arm, or float. Finally, when the battery has been disconnected, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) must relearn its former driveability and performance characteristics.
