Saturn LS1 Side View Mirrors

The Side View Mirrors of Saturn LS1 vehicles play an important function of assisting the driver by providing vision of areas which are behind as well as alongside the vehicle, which are part of the driver's field view. Most of them are installed at the doors with the height of the A-pillars, and these mirrors can be manipulated either by hands or with the help of additional buttons on a car's interior. Other enhancements may also be added like electric heating and electrochromical dimming. When it comes to the passenger side, these used to be totally optional up to at least the late '60s and for driver side mirrors to achieve a fully undistorted reflection they are now required. As to the types of the mirrors that can be used, there has been employing such types of mirrors as planar, convex and aspherical, the concern is more oriented as to how to display the maximum visibility with the necessary safety measures. Digital side mirrors have recently been developed which through implementation of cameras provide even better visibility and lower air drag and this sheds light to the fact that Saturn LS1 Side View Mirrors are ever being developed.

Each OEM Saturn LS1 Side View Mirrors we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS1 Side View Mirrors Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do side view mirrors operate and what steps should be taken if they malfunction on Saturn LS1?
A: Most electric rear view mirrors use two motors to move the glass; one for up and down adjustments and one for left-right adjustments. The control switch has a selector portion that sends voltage to the left or right side mirror. With the ignition ON but the engine OFF, roll down the windows and operate the mirror control switch through all functions (left-right and up-down) for both the left and right side mirrors. Listen carefully for the sound of the electric motors running in the mirrors. If the motors can be heard but the mirror glass doesn't move, there's a problem with the drive mechanism inside the mirror. If the mirrors do not operate and no sound comes from the mirrors, check the Fuse. If the fuse is OK, remove the mirror control switch and have the switch continuity checked by a dealership service department or other qualified automobile repair facility. Make sure the mirror is properly grounded. If the mirror still doesn't work, remove the mirror and check the wires at the mirror for voltage. If there's no voltage in each switch position, check the circuit between the mirror and control switch for opens and shorts. If there's voltage, remove the mirror and test it off the vehicle with jumper wires, replacing the mirror if it fails this test.
