Saturn Outlook A/C Accumulator

Saturn Outlook A/C Accumulator protects the compressor from moisture, excess oil, and debris before they recirculate. Positioned in the low pressure line between the evaporator and compressor, the A/C Accumulator is a desiccant bag that absorbs water while the chamber traps particulates so that mostly vapor is sent to the pump. Within any Outlook crossover, this A/C Accumulator also serves as a reservoir to store surplus refrigerant so liquid cannot slam into moving pistons. Over time, the desiccant saturates and contaminants build up, so changing the A/C Accumulator whenever the system is opened keeps cooling performance crisp and prevents corrosion. Earlier Saturn utility vehicles sometimes applied a receiver drier that performs the same drying task but is located in the high pressure liquid line between the condenser and expansion valve, which means that the two styles are different primarily in location and the refrigerant phase they monitor. Modern Outlook models stick with the A/C Accumulator design due to its post-evaporator location, which provides a better defense against compressor damage to ensure reliable comfort in every Saturn cabin.

Each OEM Saturn Outlook A/C Accumulator we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn Outlook A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to properly remove and install the A/C Accumulator on Saturn Outlook?
    A:
To remove the air conditioning system, start by having it recovered. Then, remove the front bumper cover. Next, at the lower left side of the condenser, remove the cap covering the snap-ring and A/C Accumulator plug. Lightly tap upwards on the A/C Accumulator plug and remove the snap-ring. After that, remove the A/C Accumulator plug using a 5mm screw if needed, and remove the A/C Accumulator. For installation, apply a coat of refrigerant oil to the A/C Accumulator plug before installing and add 0.3 oz (10 ml) of fresh R-134a refrigerant oil. Finally, have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested.
