- A:To remove the lower control arm, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle with jackstands. Remove the wheel and disconnect the stabilizer bar link from the lower control arm. Then, detach the shock absorber yoke from the lower control arm. Loosen the balljoint nut and use a balljoint remover to break the balljoint loose from the steering knuckle. Remove the nut and then remove the lower control arm pivot bolts and nuts. Take note of the bolt orientation. Pull the lower control arm from its frame brackets and slip the balljoint stud out of the steering knuckle. To install the lower control arm, simply reverse the removal steps, ensuring that all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque. Finally, install the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. It is recommended to have the front-end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
