To remove the air intake duct, first remove the left fender brace on 2009 and earlier models. Then, disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose from the duct and loosen the hose clamp screws at the air filter box and throttle body. Pull back the clamps and remove the duct. For 2010 and later model V6 engines, pry the PCV tube from the duct and loosen the hose clamp screws at the air filter box and throttle body or air intake resonator. To remove the air intake resonator on 2.4L engines, loosen the hose clamp screw at the throttle body and pull off the resonator. To remove the air filter box, first disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. In 2009 and earlier models, remove the air intake duct and then remove the air filter element. Without disconnecting the electrical connectors, remove the PCM and harness from the box. On models with a separate TCM, do the same with it. Pull the box up and out of its grommets. In 2010 and later models, remove the air intake duct and detach the electrical connector from the MAF sensor. Pull the air filter box up and out of its grommets. Installation for both the air intake duct and air filter box is the reverse of removal.
