Q:
How do you remove the rear stabilizer bar and link? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove and install a sway bar kit on a vehicle, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and raising the rear of the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheels and block the front wheels to prevent rolling. Next, remove the spare tire and the left and right side sway bar link-to-sway bar kit nuts, along with the washers and bushings. Take off the sway bar kit bushing brackets and the sway bar kit itself. If needed, remove the sway bar kit links and bushings from the lower control arm. Inspect the bushings for any cracks, wear, or deterioration and replace as necessary. Clean the bushing area of the sway bar kit using a stiff wire brush to remove rust or dirt, and lubricate the inside and outside of the new bushing with vegetable oil for easier reassembly. To install, reverse the removal steps, ensuring the bar kit is centered, and tighten the fasteners to the proper torque values. Finally, install the spare tire, the wheel, and lug nuts, and lower the vehicle, tightening the lug nuts to the specified torque.
