To install the new antenna, insert the cable lead into the fender wheel and route it towards the radio, attaching it to the back of the radio. Screw the antenna mast into the fender and check its operation.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the instrument panel sound absorber pad, unplug the antenna lead-in and harness connector from the relay assembly, apply masking tape to the rear edge of the fender and door, remove the inner to outer fender retaining screws, raise the vehicle and support it safely, then remove the associated front wheel assembly, remove the lower rocker panel retaining screws, lower fender-to-body retaining bolt and remove the lower rocker panel, as required, remove the inner splash shield from the fender, as required, remove the upper antenna retaining nut, using an appropriately tool, remove the antenna-to-bracket retaining bolts, then remove the antenna. To install, fit the antenna into position, then loosely install the antenna gasket and upper nut, loosely install the antenna to bracket retaining bolts, tighten the upper antenna retaining nut, using the appropriately tool, then tighten the antenna to bracket retaining bolts, complete installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure, apply silicone grease to the harness connector before reconnecting, check the operation of the antenna mast, reset the radio and clock, if required, from inside the trunk, remove the trim panel from either the right or left rear wheel area, remove the antenna mounting bracket retaining screws, remove the upper antenna nut and bezel from the antenna, using an appropriately tool, remove the lead-in cable and wiring connector, remove the antenna assembly from the vehicle, fit the antenna to the vehicle, then connect the lead-in cable, install the nut and bezel to the antenna and mounting bracket retaining screws, apply silicone grease to the harness connector before reconnecting, install the trim panel and reconnect the negative battery cable, check the operation of the antenna mast, reset the radio and clock, if required.

Slide the new antenna into place with the antenna lead attached, install the escutcheon nut, attach the inner fender clips and screws, then lower the vehicle, tighten the two mounting bolts in the engine compartment, then tighten the antenna escutcheon nut, and install the antenna mast to the base.

To lower the antenna mast, turn off the radio or ignition key switch. If the mast is stuck in the 'up' position, it may be necessary to cut it off for easier replacement. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Access the power antenna motor through the inner fender panel, and if needed, raise the vehicle and remove the front tire for better access. Remove the fender skirt attaching screws and pull down on the rear edge of the skirt, using a 2x4-inch lumber as a spacer to keep it pulled away. Remove the escutcheon nut at the fender and disconnect the electrical leads. Remove the antenna and motor assembly through the fender skirt opening. When installing a new unit, ensure that the mast is fully retracted and secure the lower bracket attachment with the fender skirt attaching screw.
