To perform various lighting-related tasks on your Cadillac, follow these steps. For front cornering lights, first raise the vehicle and disconnect the electrical connector, then turn the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove it from the housing and replace the bulb. For front park/turn lights, on early models, remove the screws and detach the light housing from the body, rotate the bulb holder counterclockwise to withdraw it, and remove the bulb. On later models, remove the headlight housing and access and replace the bulbs. For rear turn signal, back-up, and brake/tail light bulbs on 1999 Seville models, access the bulbs by removing trunk components, disconnect the electrical connector, and rotate the bulb holder counterclockwise to replace the bulb. For 1999 DeVille models, remove the Torx bolt, release the taillight assembly, disconnect the tail light assembly electrical connectors, and replace the bulb. For 2000 and later models (except Seville and DeVille back-up lights), open the trunk, remove the sill plate, trunk side trim panel, and the taillight assembly, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the mounting nuts, and replace the bulb. For 2000 and later Seville back-up lights, open the trunk, remove the trunk lid trim panel, fasteners, and housing, disconnect harness connectors, and replace the bulb. For 2000 and later DeVille back-up lights, open the trunk, remove the trunk trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the mounting nuts, and replace the bulb. For the high-mounted brake light, access it through the package shelf or trunk inner trim panel, remove the housing fasteners, disconnect the electrical connector, and replace the bulbs. For license plate lights, remove the socket assembly or the housing, replace the bulbs, and reinstall. For instrument panel lights, remove the instrument cluster, rotate the bulbs counterclockwise, and replace them. For dome lights (2005 and earlier models), pry off the housing, remove screws, detach the bulb holder housing, and replace the bulbs. For courtesy lights, pry out the housing, release the switch, and rotate the housing out of the opening, then replace the bulb. For vanity lights, pry off the light lens, spread the terminals at either end of the bulb, and remove it. For roof rail courtesy lights, lower the headliner, remove the roof rail lamp screw, disconnect the electrical connector, and replace the entire assembly. Reinstallation follows the reverse of removal for each task.
