- A:To remove the caliper, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Once the vehicle is secure, remove the wheels. Next, remove the banjo fitting bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the caliper, discarding the sealing washers. To prevent contamination and fluid loss, plug the brake hose. If the caliper is being removed for access to another component, use wire to hang it out of the way. To install the caliper, reverse the removal procedure, ensuring to use new sealing washers and tightening the banjo fitting bolt to the specified torque.
