Q:
How to remove and install the air intake duct and air filter housing on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
A:
On 6.0L models, remove the intake manifold cover. Disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose from the air intake duct and loosen the hose clamp screw at the throttle body. Loosen the hose clamp screw at the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. On 6.0L models, detach the radiator hose clip from the air intake duct. Pull upwards to disconnect the grommet from the duct at the top of the intake manifold. On all models, remove the air duct by disconnecting it from the MAF and the throttle body. Installation is the reverse of removal. Remove the air intake duct. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Grasp the air filter box firmly and pull it straight up to disengage the locator pins from their insulator grommets. While the air filter box is out, inspect the rubber mounting grommets. If a grommet is cracked, torn, or otherwise damaged, replace it. Installation is the reverse of removal.
