To remove and install the front suspension components on Deville, Eldorado, Fleetwood, and Seville models, start by raising and supporting the vehicle. Remove the wheel and tire assembly, followed by the hub and bearing assembly. Next, remove the cotter pin and nut from the tie rod end, using a separator tool to separate it from the steering knuckle. Remove the cotter pin and nut from the ball joint stud, using a ball joint separator tool to separate it from the steering knuckle. If necessary, disconnect the anti-lock brake wheel speed sensor. Remove the strut-to-steering knuckle bolts and remove the steering knuckle. To install, position the steering knuckle and install the strut-to-steering knuckle bolts, tightening them to 140 ft.lbs. If necessary, reconnect the anti-lock brake wheel speed sensor. Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and install the castellated nut. Tighten the nut according to the specified torque for each model. Install a new cotter pin. Connect the tie rod end to the steering knuckle, tightening the nut to 35 ft. lbs. Install a new cotter pin. Finally, install the hub and bearing assembly, the wheel and tire assembly, and lower the vehicle. Check the front wheel alignment.
