Q:
How to remove the Brake Pad on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the brake assembly, start by removing the cap from the brake fluid reservoir and draining about two-thirds of the fluid. Then, loosen the lug nuts and raise the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheels and inspect the brake disc, removing it if necessary. Clean the caliper, caliper bracket, and surrounding area before beginning the installation process. When reinstalling the caliper, ensure that the mounting bolts are tightened to the proper torque specifications, and do the same for the wheel lug nuts. After completing the job, depress the brake pedal a few times until it is firm, and check the brake fluid level, adding more if needed. Break in the new pads by making a few low-speed stops, allowing time for the discs to cool in between. Listen for any unusual noises and visually inspect the brake system for leaks or any components that may not have been properly reinstalled.

How to remove and replace brake pads for Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove and replace brake pads, first loosen the lug nuts and raise the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheels and inspect the brake disc. Use a C-clamp to depress the pistons into the caliper bores. Remove the caliper mounting bracket bolts and detach the caliper and brake pads from the steering knuckle, being sure to hang the caliper with a length of wire. Remove the outer brake pad, separate the mounting bracket from the caliper, and remove the pad retainers from the bracket. Install new retainers and remove the inner brake pad from the caliper. Remove the caliper guide pin seals and boots and install new ones, then remove the upper guide pin from the mounting bracket and install a new one. To install new brake pads, lubricate the guide pins of the caliper mounting bracket with high-temperature brake grease and install the bracket to the caliper. Install new pad retainers to the mounting bracket, then install the new inner and outer pads. Finally, install the caliper/bracket/brake pad assembly over the disc and install the caliper mounting bracket bolts, tightening them to the torque specifications.
