- A:To remove the MAP sensor on a V6 model, disconnect the electrical connector and pull the sensor straight up out of the intake manifold. Inspect and replace the sealing grommet if necessary, and use clean engine oil on the grommet during installation to prevent tearing. For a V8 model, remove the intake manifold cover and disconnect the electrical connector before removing the sensor retainer and pulling the sensor straight up. Inspect and replace the sealing grommet if necessary, and use clean engine oil on the grommet during installation. Make sure the retainer snaps into place during installation.
