How to remove the steering wheel on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Park the vehicle straight and disconnect the battery's negative terminal. If equipped with an airbag, disable it. On non-airbag models, detach the horn pad. For pre-1996 airbag models, remove screws from the steering wheel's back. On 1996 and later, turn the wheel 90 degrees, accessing holes to release pins using a screwdriver. Lift the airbag module, disconnect the connector, and remove. Take off the horn plunger, retaining nut, mark the wheel's position if needed, then use a puller to detach the steering wheel. Disconnect horn and ground connectors. For installation, reverse the steps, center the SIR coil for airbag models, and tighten all components to specified torque.

    Q:
How to remove the steering wheel on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the steering wheel, start by disconnecting both cables from the battery. If you have a 1994 model, simply pry off the horn cap. For airbag-equipped models, disable the airbag system first. On 1995 models, turn the steering wheel 90-degrees to access the holes in the backside of the steering wheel and use a thin hard tool to push in and release the four spring-loaded fasteners of the airbag module. On 1996 and later models, turn the steering wheel 90-degrees and insert a screwdriver into the holes to push aside the four spring clips and release the pins. Remove the horn contact plunger and contact plate, and unplug the yellow electrical connector on airbag-equipped models. Then, remove the steering wheel retaining nut and mark the position of the steering wheel to the shaft. Use a puller to detach the steering wheel from the shaft, avoiding hammering on the shaft. To install the wheel, align the marks on the steering wheel hub and shaft, slide the wheel onto the shaft, and tighten the nut to the specified torque. The rest of the installation is the reverse of the removal process.
