First, park the car in a straight-ahead position. Then take the negative battery wire out and turn off the airbags. Push a screwdriver through the wheel's side holes, turn the spring clips inside with the blade, and pull out the airbag module. Disconnect the connections, then carefully lift and remove the module. First, take off the steering wheel nut and keep track of how it stands related to the shaft. Then use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel by turning a bolt in the center. Disconnect the wiring harness by pulling through the steering wheel opening. Then take off the steering wheel from the axle. To install the airbag clockspring correctly, first place it in the center of its spot. Then make sure the marks on the steering shaft and wheel hub match. Tighten the steering wheel nut to the right amount of force as shown earlier, before activating the airbag system. To switch out the clockspring, you need to unlatch the steering column panels, straighten your front tires, pry out a snap-ring from the steering shaft, and then free the clockspring wiring. Pull out the clockspring harness and connector carefully, using the steering column, and attach a piece of wire to it to help guide the way.
