- A:To remove the rear suspension components, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and blocking the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Then, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands before removing the rear wheels. For the upper control arm, disconnect the harness connector for the wheel speed sensor and remove the mounting bolt and nut. Remove the arm from the vehicle and inspect the bushings for deterioration. If needed, replace the bushings at an automotive machine shop. To install, reverse the removal steps and tighten the fasteners to the correct torque specifications. For the lower control arm, mark the position of the adjustment fastener and remove the coil spring, mounting nut, and adjustment fastener. Inspect the bushing and then install the control arm by tightening the mounting fasteners to the proper torque specifications. For the toe link arm, mark the position of the adjustment fastener and remove the mounting bolt, nut, and adjustment fastener. Remove the arm and inspect the bushing. Install the toe link arm by tightening the mounting fasteners to the proper torque specifications. For the trailing arm, remove the mounting bolts and parking brake cable bracket. Inspect the bushing and install the trailing arm by tightening the mounting fasteners to the proper torque specifications. To remove the spindle, remove the hub and bearing assembly, shock absorber, coil spring, toe link arm, upper control arm, trailing arm, and stabilizer bar link. Install the spindle by reversing the removal steps and tightening all mounting fasteners to the suitable torque specifications.
